Vipabhon is a young Chiang Mai based artist, living and working in the city where she was born in 1982. She graduated from the Printing Dept. of the Faculty of Art, Chiang Mai University in 2004, and since then has endeavoured to work as a full-time artist. Her preferred medium is acrylic on canvas.
For her beautiful flower paintings - part detailed botanical images, part fantasy,
Vipabhon takes her inspiration from the beauty of nature – the forms and the many varied colours of flowers, leaves and plants. And for the illumination of all plants she considers the sun and the moon walking hand in hand through the hours of day and night, the light changing from dark to light to dark again, and feeding our dreams.
Weaving together her thoughts and imagination, her paintings each tell a tale, each specific to a time and place. She hopes that others may also see their own stories of daily life and experiences in her paintings, and rejoice at being in the midst of nature.
Vipabhon has taken part in a number of local and Thai exhibitions both as a student and as a graduate.
