Panu was born in 1972 in Bangkok but presently lives and works in the northern Thai city of Chiang Mai.  He graduated from the Department of Sculpture and Painting of Chiang Mai University.  Since graduating he has participated in several exhibitions in Thailand.

He is particularly interested in the philosophy of human life and especially in Buddhist philosophy. Often he will merge contrasting elements such as birth and death or flowers in bloom with a dead tree in the background. With a special expertise in transparent oil painting this makes his artwork more interesting, showing the complexity of each element.

For the ‘Essence of Self’ Exhibition, Panu expresses the concept that with a clear mind and a conscious attention to our own physical well-being, it is possible to look beyond a beautiful surface and find an abstract beauty which reaches beyond the initial, superficial attraction.  He believes that we must take more time for ourselves, return into the reaches of our minds, and when our mind is peaceful from observing beauty, then our physical beings will be also be calm and peaceful.
