Hien was born in Kim Thanh – Hia Duong in 1972, but he
is presently living in Hanoi. In 1994 he graduated from the
Painting Department of Central Music and Painting College.
More recently, in 2001, he graduated from the Internal and
External Decoration Department of Hanoi Industrial Fine Art
University.
In 1997 he exhibited his work and won second prize in picture
design for students at the univerity. From 2000 onwards his
work has been shown each year at the annual national exhibition
which is funded by the Hanoi Fine Art Association.
