Myint Soe was born in Yangon, Myanmar in 1954. He studied at Yangon University, graduating in 1977.
He started painting in 1975 and specialises in oil painting. For most of his career his style of painting has been influenced by impressionism, but in his recent paintings a more abstract and modern style prevails.
He has participated in many art exhibitions including outside Myanmar, notably in Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, United Kingdom, France and Switzerland. He has also lead and organised some art exhibitions at home and abroad. In 1995, he established the Summit Art Collection Gallery in Yangon.
