Muu Muu was born in Wunbo village in the Monywa District of Sagaing Division in Upper Myanmar in 1955. From 1976-79 he attended the State School of Fine Arts in Mandalay, and during this same period he studied modern art under master artist U Khin Maung. After graduating from Art School he worked as a magazine illustrator in Yangon and participated in the Maymyo Group exhibition at the Bogyoke Market.
In 1984, Muu Muu opened the Myth Gallery in Maymyo (Pyin Oo Lwin) in Mandalay Division and in the same year he was awarded a prize in the BBC 50th Anniversary Art Competition, and some of his paintings were exhbited in London.
1998 saw the opening of his own 'La Vie' Gallery in Pyin Oo Lwin, and his works are now sought after by collectors in Malaysia and Switzerland as well as in his own and neighbouring countries. Over the last 10 years Muu Muu has participated in several group exhibitions and had his first solo show in Yangon in 2000.
His most recent works, displayed in La Luna Gallery are painted on mulberry paper and the mix of water colour and pen and the theme and style of his paintings, give a rather whimsical look at life.
