Born in Malaysia in 1968, Lim studied at the Malaysian Institute
of Art in Kuala Lumpur, at the Tatsun Studio in Illustration
and under the tutelage of Mr Chong Chen Chuan, Chairman of
the Calligraphy School of Malaysia.
He has exhibited in numerous exhibitions, both solo and
collective in Malaysia, China, Mongolia, Japan, Korea and
England, and has won a number of Malaysian National Art Awards.
His works are also in private collections in the United States,
England, Singapore, Germany, New Zealand, Taiwan, Hong Kong
and Malaysia.
La Luna Gallery is presently carrying a number of Lim’s ‘Rhythm
Series’ which emphasizes music performance with specific
themes and lively movement, painted in modulations of colours
with the frantic exuberance of dynamic brushstrokes. Other
series are of Thai and Malay traditional dances and of horses.
Lim’s painting has a unique personality and a high
level of technique, although he is brave enough to experiment
with new ideas.
