Le Bien was born in Bac Ninh, Vietnam in 1944 and graduated from Hanoi Fine Art University in 1978. He is a member of the Vietnam Fine Art Association.
Since 1989, he has participated in many exhibitions in Vietnam and also in the United States, Thailand and Laos. His paintings are also to be found in private collections in United States, Denmark, Thailand and Singapore. In 1994 we was awarded a Gold Medal for his painting on the theme of war, and also a Silver Medal at the National Fine Art exhibition.
His work is strongly influenced by the French school of impressionism with an asian touch. He uses subtle colours and his themes reflect the seasons, daily life and important symbols in Vietnamese culture.
