Born in 1962 in Edinburgh, Scotland, the American/Swedish
photographer Jesper Haynes has a strong interest in contemporary
youth culture in Asia's hi-tech mega-cities.
With an emphasis on fashion and portrait photography,
Jesper has worked for newspapers and magazines all over
the world. His work is also represented at the Museum
of Modern Art in Stockholm, Sweden.
He now shares his time between his bases in New York,
Bangkok and Tokyo - where he can be found documenting
Asia's fast-changing trends. Simultanously, Jesper is
working to portray traditional life. He has spent weeks
among the Pwo Karen hill tribe in Sop Moei district to
photograph the rhythm of life among one of Thailands smallest
ethnic groups (photos will be used in a book to be published
in 2004).
The photos exhibited in La Luna are are selection from
Miami, Tokyo, and two Swedish islands
