Duc Nghia Phan was born in 1972 in Bae Ninh province of Vietnam. After majoring in Design, he graduated from the Painting Department of the Hanoi Industrial Fine Art College.

He has exhibited in fine art exhibitions in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. His brightly coloured oil paintings portray traditional and rural scenes with a simplicity of form but with an evident depth of emotion.
