Alexander Tinti, born in Austria, graduated from the Academy of Fine
Arts in Vienna. After a few years working for the Vienna State Opera as
stage director, he moved to New York City designing and directing for
various theaters, among them for the ‘LaMama ETC’ and ultimately
opening his own theater space. Since moving to Thailand, he focusses
exclusively on painting, aiming to fuse a variety of experiences into
the essence of pure painting:
“In an increasingly fragmented world I employ painting to communicate
and counteract perceived disintegration.
Though a wide range of topics initially drive me to paint, my foremost
interest lies in the actual act of painting, transforming the topics
into an abstract pictorial and emotional language where the theme may
still be kept but plays a second role to the abstract possibilities of
painting.”
